  • Since January 1st 2000 the State Unitary Enterprise "Bashkirian Airlines" has been divided into two independent structures – the State Unitary Enterprise "Bashkirian Airlines" and the State Unitary Enterprise "Ufa International Airport".
  • In 1992 the passenger and cargo turnover of the airport has increased significantly, reaching the following figures: 1 137 400 passengers, 4800 tons of cargo and 490 tons of mail. The peak of cargo transportation turnover through the Ufa Airport in 1980 achieved 25300 tons of cargo and 2740 tons of mail. The peak volume of passenger traffic in 1990 was 1 479 800 passengers.

  • During 2001 such airlines as Aeroflot, Pulkovo Airlines, Siberia, Kuban Airlines, Uzbekistan Airlines, Krasnoyarsk Airlines, Tyumen Airlines, KMV, Krasnodar Airlirnes, KomInterAvia, KolAvia, SurgutAvia, Avialeasing, Center Avia, KhantyAvia, Nizhegorodskiye Airlines had taken advantage of the Ufa International Airport services for transfer flights.
  • To present day such well-known foreign airlines as Lufthansa, Finnair, MIAT Mongolian Airlines (with the President of Mongolia onboard), Vietnam Airlines (with the Prime Minister of Vietnam onboard), LOT and CSA carried out transit charter flights through the Ufa International Airport. Some South-Asian airlines applied to the marketing department for carrying out transit flights through the Ufa Airport.
  • The airport is connected to the city via 1st category highway of 22 km in distance. The highway has six lanes, with toll road width of 7 m and height restriction of 4.5 m, allowing max capacity of 10 tons. It has links to the federal highways М5 and М7.
  • Transportation to/from the city is accomplished by taxis and buses performing 4 regular routes with the density of 3-6 per hour.
  • The airport area is 840 hectares. The engineering infrastructure of the airport, including the aerodrome as well as the passenger and cargo terminals, is a united technological complex, providing reception and maintenance of virtually any type of aircraft. The complex consists of the aerodrome with two runways, taxiways and gates, Domestic and International terminals, business lounge, luggage facilities etc. The Domestic terminal capacity is 600 passengers per hour. The capacity of the International terminal (operating since October 2nd, 2000) is 200 passengers per hour.
  • Ufa International airport continues to develop the ground handling and the engineering infrastructure striving for increase and update of the air transportation capacities of both cargo and passengers (The Strategic Development Concept has been adopted up to the year 2020).

  • Beneficial geographical location, the proximity of the river port with the exit to the Black Sea (The "sea to sea" type ships sail from the seaports of the Black sea coast up to the Nizhnekamsk port (Nizhnekamsk, Tatarstan) which is situated on the Volga and Kama rivers, where the "sea to river" ships and barges transshipment is done. From the Nizhnekamsk port ships pass through the rivers Kama and Agidel up to the Ufa port. The assured depth of the Agidel river navigation cannel is 2 m. The period of navigation lasts from April to October), availability of major railways and highways is a good foundation for accomplishing the development plans of the Ufa International Airport.
  • According to the ICAO international standards, the main task of the Ufa Airport is to provide guaranteed air transport security. Development in this field is constantly moving forward.
  • The Ufa city is one of the largest transport hubs in the Russian Federation and has a developed transport infrastructure including airports, large railway junctions, highways, and river ports. The geographic location of the Ufa International Airport, regarding its well developed transportation network, provides a bright prospective of its conversion into the modern cargo/passenger hub and thus into the central airport in the air infrastructure of the Republic of Bashkortostan with the goal of directing major streams of passengers and cargo from Asia to Europe and back.
